Hey everyone, and welcome back to 30 days of Juice & Smoothies. I have been having a hard time balancing work, self-care and blogging, and home life. But I have been learning to schedule and stay focused, and I want to thank everyone for the support and advice. Jumping back into our groove, we have Day 12,13 and 14.

Day 12: Skin Healer (10/5)
In my household, my husband and I both deal with plaque cirrhosis and eczema. One thing I take seriously is our health and well-being. This recipe is something that has helped us both. With dealing with any health condition, your diet will play a big part.
Benefits of Avocados:
Avocados are rich in omega 3’s that gives you healthier skin
Protein-rich to keep you satisfied and full
Maintain weight loss
Adds consistency and taste to the mix
Benefits of Bananas:
Provides nourishment to the skin
Rich in potassium
Loaded with fiber
Considered as a powerhouse of nutrients
1 Ripe banana
1 cup unsweetened almond milk/coconut milk
Some fruits of your choice ( strawberries, blueberries, etc. are good options)
Stevia – prefer natural sweetener
Next, we move onto another yummy green smoothie that will help with eczema.
Day 13: Ultimate Green for skin conditions (10/6)
1 Cup Kale leaves
1 inch Ginger
1 tbsp Chia seeds
1 tbsp Frozen berries
1/2 tbsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp Coconut oil
1 tbsp Raw Honey
Our last and final juice/smoothie is one that I enjoy making. It is for mothers who experience morning sickness. Carrying a life is such a beautiful experience, but the body is such a tricky thing. Creating a morning sickness smoothie is a great way to ease nausea that inevitably comes with pregnancy. Even if you are not pregnant, this is a good smoothie for nausea. If you have endometriosis or an, this will work wonders.
Day 13: Nausea Be Gone (10/7)
1 cup pineapple
1 Tbsp fresh ginger
1 Tbsp lemon juice (omit if you have bad acid reflux)
1 cup kale leaves
1 Tbsp maple syrup (skip if you have gestational diabetes)
1 cup ice
1.5 cups water
Add 1/2 avocado for extra healthy fats or vegan protein powder for a meal.
Hey everyone, Happy Aloha Friday! Today we are going to talk about eczema and what you can do to help ease it. For those who don’t know, eczema is an atopic dermatitis condition that makes your skin red and itchy. It’s common in children but can occur at any age. Atopic dermatitis is long-lasting (chronic) and tends to flare periodically. It may be accompanied by asthma or hay fever. No cure has been found for atopic dermatitis. Luckily we live in an age where natural medicine is making a come back.
Some causes can be from factors that cause the skin to become dry, which affects the skin’s barrier function.
Genetic mutations that affect the skin’s barrier function
Immune system dysfunction causing an unwanted inflammatory response in the skin.
Certain substances or conditions called trigger factors can cause eczema to flare (i.e., become worse). These trigger factors can be:
Irritants such as soaps and detergents, wool, skin infections, dry skin, low humidity, heat, sweating, or emotional stress.
Allergens such as dust mites, pollen, molds, or foods.
Anything that will dry your skin
Itching. This is the worst aspect because it can be upsetting for the child. It also makes the child scratch causing further rawness of the skin and possible infections to develop.
Redness is caused by extra blood flowing through the blood vessels in the skin in the affected area.
Weeping when the blisters burst, either by themselves or because of scratching, and the fluid oozes on to the skin’s surface.
Crusts or scabs that form when the fluid dries.
Children with eczema often have dry, scaly skin. This may be the result of the disease, or it may also be the natural skin type of the family. Dry skin can be a predisposing factor for developing eczema.

Using emollients such as special bath oils and moisturizers. (coming soon to our shop)
Moisturize your skin at least twice a day
Take a warm bath and use bath oils.
Meditation and deep breathing ( it is said that stress can cause flare-ups)
DIET DIET DIET
Cut out processed foods, black tea, soy products, chocolate, and eggs.
WATER WATER WATER (dry skin prevention starts from the inside every morning before eating anything drink 1 cup of hot water lime and chia seeds about 1 -2 tsp to start. Not only will you detox your skin, but you will also begin to shed a few pounds if that is what you are looking to do.)
