Alkaline Diet; The End

Health and Wealth

Hi everyone, and welcome back to my blog. I do want to apologize for the late post. I am learning that just because I am home all day does not mean I should work every day. So I want to say thank you for sticking with me on this journey called life; now back to business. On the final installation of the Alkaline Diet, we are going over infused water. Now I am talking about fruits and vegetables, but I have heard the ABC store sells CBD water. For those who don’t know what fruit infused water is, it’s just adding different combinations of fruits, herbs, and vegetables to water. If you plan to replace sugary beverages like soda or fruit juice with fruit infused water, you’re in luck! A much healthier alternative, detox water is:

  • Low in sugar (aside from the small amount of naturally-occurring sugar in fruit)
  • More hydrating (when people enjoy the light flavor of detox water, they are more likely to drink)
  • Low in calories (which increases if you eat the fruit or vegetables after drinking)
  • Refreshing (the flavors of herbs, vegetables, and fruits are naturally fresh)

Another great benefit is that if you’re trying to reduce your alcohol intake, fruit-infused water will make the transition much more manageable. There are a lot of empty calories in alcohol, which adds up after a few pints of beer or a couple of glasses of wine. Even now I know being stuck in the house is hard, but it’s imperative to keep taking care of yourself. But, also, I will never shame anyone. My husband and I ate ramen all last week, not one vegetable. (lol) And we had other options it’s just comfort food. Some benefits you get from infused water are

  • Vitamin Content; Vitamin C contained in fruit can boost the immune system.
  • Digestive Support; Digestion is better when you aren’t dehydrated. If you find yourself more backed up; Up your water intake. Another sign of dehydration is craving salty food.
  • Weight-balancing effects; People who drink more water tend to lose weight faster and when you add fruit into the mix that will boost the chances.

Now that we have the facts, here are some yummy recipes and a few benefits for each. Once again, I am not a doctor, so please always consult before doing anything that makes you second guess. To start, I would use filtered water; you can check the post before this for more info on how to do that. Also, remember you can eat the fruit after, but it won’t have much flavor. Infused water should be stored in the fridge when not drinking. Most recipes call for you to soak the water overnight. Just remember it is fresh fruit and vegetables, so the shelflife is 2-3 days for someone week. These recipes were used with 5 cups of water.

Strawberry Twist;

  • 1/2 cup strawberries stemmed and sliced, fresh or frozen
  • 5 large fresh basil leaves torn
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced

Minty Dew;

  • 1/2 cup honeydew cubes
  • 1 cucumber thinly sliced
  • 10 fresh mint leaves torn

Black Gin;

  • 1/2 pint blackberries
  • 1 orange thinly sliced
  • 1 (2-inch) piece ginger peeled and thinly sliced

One big tip to remember is the longer you infuse it, the stronger the flavors will be. Later in the week, I will be starting a new series on Herbs that Heal. After that, we will dive into the beautiful world of juicing. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or requests, please let me know. With the pink moon still in action, this is the perfect time to heal your inner child, love yourself more, and LET GO OF THINGS THAT DO NOT SERVE YOU ANYMORE. Life is short, laugh often.

Happy 4/20 & Happy Full Moon.

JOKE OF THE DAY;

What did the bottled water tell the spy?

The names bond, Hydrogen bond.
